Java / Angular Developer
Hi, I'm
Abdelilah Bouchikhi.
I build scalable web applications with Java, Spring Boot and Angular — from microservices and batch pipelines to clean, fast user interfaces.

01 — About
My career
so far.
I'm a Java / Angular developer who builds web applications end to end — Spring Boot services on the back end, Angular on the front end. Most recently I interned at HPS, fixing bugs and shipping features on PowerCARD, a payment card platform built on a microservices architecture.
I actively collaborate in multi-person projects, coordinate tasks, integrate features, and review code in group settings — with experience leading small teams to meet deadlines and ensure code quality.

- Developed and maintained Java/Spring Boot services in PowerCARD v4, HPS's payment card platform — a microservices architecture in a large multi-module Gradle monorepo — across both the issuer and acquirer modules.
- Delivered bug fixes and features on the PowerCARD 4.3.0 and 4.2.5 release lines.
- Improved performance of the authorization-archive and refund-suspension batches by moving OpenSearch writes to event-based ingestion through Fluent Bit, including a new DTO mapping for refund events.
- Resolved a production incident caused by a blocking OpenSearch refresh call (SocketTimeoutException), and shipped the fix through a multi-branch release workflow (develop, 4.2.5, 4.3.0) using cherry-picks and backports.
- Built Docker images, pushed them to a private registry and deployed them to Kubernetes, debugging service startup failures such as bean-override and repository-scanning conflicts.
- Used observability tools — Grafana, JProfiler and AWS CloudWatch — to monitor services and track down performance issues.
- Scaffolded a new microservice end to end during onboarding: Liquibase migrations, JPA composite keys, generic CRUD service/controller layers and gRPC contracts.
